92 PTS: Blue’s Tasting Note –
Crisp and tangy with silky texture; fresh and
smooth, long and balanced with a lively, fruit-forward style.
“My Chardonnay is from the Santa Maria Valley AVA in the rolling hills of
northern Santa Barbara County where some of the finest Chardonnay grapes
are grown. The morning marine fog and the afternoon ocean breezes make
the cool-climate Santa Maria Valley prime for Chardonnay with slow ripening grapes that result in an expressive,
well-balanced wine with a rich palate Aged sur lees for 8 months in neutral French oak barrels I
Etienne left just a kiss of oak on the bright fruit. “

92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet
Franc, 3% Merlot, 1% Malbec
Picture-perfect Cab Franc layered with complexity, floral notes and dark berry fruit. The aromas are like a spice cabinet out in a dense forest. An intriguing umami essence of savory spice, soy sauce and forest floor earthiness fill the glass while sweet spice (cinnamon) lingers behind. The first sip of the wine, though, shows how truly complex and interesting Cabernet Franc is. Rich and rounded, the entry has this elegant violet and lavender expression (from the older vines) marrying with the black cherry of the newer clones. With an even palate throughout and the youthful ‘Cab Franc’ tannins on the finish, this wine is purely mountain-grown—bold, beautiful, and balanced!
