79% Nebbiolo, 20% Barbera, 1%Merlot
The color, with its more brickish hue, is the first tell-tale sign.
The second is the classic aromas of ripe plum, dried fruit
(figs), pipe tobacco, and a myriad of spices. The nose is intriguing and inviting, just daring the senses to taste the wine.
With its higher pH (generally a “terroir” aspect of our highelevation Nebbiolo vineyards), the first sip just envelops the
entire palate.
This region of the country is known all over the world for its remarkable Mediterranean climate that produces some of the best wines around. And while we love the wineries closer to the coast, the remote foothill wineries of the Sierra Nevada are unparalleled and off the beaten path. Madroña is a scenic winery in the Apple Hill region that you will fall in love with.
The Madrona wine all started by a pioneer who found an exceptional landscape that is divestible to the hillside vineyard,
which was located in El Dorado, California in 1973. It was
originally founded by the Senior Bush who wanted to create
this unique wine that has great acidity with perfect balance to
create this comfort when drinking the wine. This authentic
wine was discovered from a 350 year old Madrona tree, which
represented the location to grow the best terroir of the Madrona vineyards. These Madrona trees are found in the greatest growing regions through El Dorado, Sierra Foothills
AVAs.
