The 2018 Le Crock has a good Bordelais nose dominated by the blackberry scent of Cabernet Sauvignon (over 50% of the blend). The palate is treated to a surprisingly tamed beast with silky tannin and delicious red fruit and cedar. Finish is long and the wine may be drunk with pleasure now or over the next several years.
Best vintage right now from this region! Very Limited…..

The particularities of Château Le Crock:
Located on the Marbuzet plateau, the gravelly soils of the 32-hectare vineyard are worked throughout the year to allow the plant to take root deeply and reveal the complexity and richness of the St. Estèphe terroir. The vines are pruned in the traditional method of the Médoc.
The vineyard is managed according to sustainable vinicultural practices, taking into account the impact
every decision has on the environment.
The grapes are hand-harvested into crates holding 30 kg. After plot-by-plot vinification in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats, the wine is aged traditionally for 18 months in French oak barrels, 25% of which are renewed every year.
The vat house was renovated in 1999, and the barrel cellar in 2010.
Today, Château Le Crock benefits from the expertise of Château Léoville Poyferré: the same owners, the Cuvelier family since 1920, and the same oenologist, Isabelle Davin, since 2000.
The wines present a deep red color, complex tannins, exceptional structure, and aromatic finesse.
